Today we celebrated x-mas with all our kids.

Last night after all our kids went to sleep, I had decorated the dining room with balloons, and put all the x-mas presents in the basket. When our kids woke up this morning they had the surprise of their lives. They were soooo excited about all the presents they saw, specially the ones that could read their names on several presents. Melinda said that she had woken up in the middle of the night and heard a lot of noise, when Santa had come to bring all the presents and do the decorations.

Our triplets are getting ready for the holiday season!!!!!!!!!!!
For weeks they have been asking for hair extensions, so the other day I went to the market and bought the hair and today they spend all day getting their hair braided with the extensions.

I had asked Nerlande, one of our nannies and Natacha the schoolteacher to do the braiding for them.

They did a great job, the girls look beautiful and are very happy with their hair. They can wear it in many different ways. Now they are very busy to choose what to wear for the x-mas party we are having this friday afternoon……………..

This morning at 9 AM we were invited at Pazapa with Martin for his school x-mas party.

There were performances by some of the kids, and lots of singing and clapping hands together, and ofcourse x-mas presents and a nice lunch.

Martin has x-mas vacation until January 12, 2010. Until that time Pazapa has lend us their standing box so that we can continue during the holidays to work with Martin on his standing. Since Martin has started Pazapa and his braces he has made so much progress that we don’t want him to have a set back, just because the school is closed for 3 weeks.

Today at 2 PM was the x-mas party for our kids that attend Claire Fontaine kindergarden. The dress-code was red, green and white. All 4 children were very excited to go to their first school x-mas party.

We were right on time, but most of the other kids were not brought by their parents until around 3 PM, some even arrived as late as 3.30 PM. So it was quite a long wait before the party really started, but then it was fun. A lot of the kids performed a poem, song or dance. The first grade children’s parents had decided in October that it would be nice for these young ones to do an exchange of a present, so Sylvaince received a very cool car.

As you all know from the money Gala Calisto donated to us earlier this year in April we had bought a TV and had a boss make a special child-safe shelf for the TV in the playroom At that time there was still a little money left, HTG1600.- which I have saved all this time for a very special occasion. The very special occasion has arrived.

A few weeks back a new family moved into our neighborhood.
They happen to have two little girls, Chidlie 6 and her cousin Juliesa also 6, and Chidlie’s older brother Angelo 8. I suggested to our girls to go over to their house, introduce themselves and make friends.

triplets with new friends

It was instant friendship, and so I am letting the girls go out on their own in the afternoons after they are finished with their homework, to go play their little hearts out with their new friends. They love this new level of independence.

Since Martin has received his braces with the sneakers, we have been doing walking exercises with him every afternoon.

Martin walking

Today for the first time he moved one of his legs on his own, without the help of Magalie, one of our nannies. AMAZING, there is progress. Martin loves it when we do the walking with him, he is all smiles.
What happened when we were done with the exercise and sat down with him was a true miracle!!!! He said “Mamma”.

HELP CHILDREN IN HAITI

Meet Martin

MartinMeet Little Martin. On a routine visit to a hospital we noticed a little disabled boy in one of the hospital cribs. The boy had been left to fend for himself, he had no identification and his birthday is a mystery. He had been in the hospital for a few days and had been severely neglected: his diapers were soiled and he was covered in lice. No one had taken any notice of this little boy in a few days and we were left with no choice but to bring the little boy home. In honor of one the Kay Angel founders we named the boy “Little” Martin.
